Setup for vendors will be Friday, April 20th from 5PM – 8PM and the garage sale will be held on Saturday, April 21st from 7AM- 2PM. Tables for vendors are $10 per table. Self-Advocate Meeting The Southeast Texas Self Advocates (SETX/SA) is an organization of adults ages 18 and up with and without developmental disabilities run entirely by it’s members. The organization’s goal is to improve the quality of life for people living with disabilities in Southeast Texas through leadership, education, and community service opportunities. The organization is an affiliated chapter of the Texas Advocates and a program within The Arc of Texas and The Arc of Greater Beaumont. Normalize Breastfeeding Project 2018 – Southeast Texas Join Southeast Texas Birth and Breastfeeding and Crystal Eveland Photography for our FOURTH annual Normalize Breastfeeding Project event. This year, we’ll be at The Art Studio, Inc. and we’re planning our biggest, best event ever! Come out and join us in celebration and support of human milk for human babies as NORMAL.The goal of our event is to create amazing images of breastfeeding families and to flood social media in our community with these images after the event in an effort to Normalize Breastfeeding at a local level. All local families are welcome, even if you’re not breastfeeding or exclusively breastfeeding. The only requirement is a desire to support local parents and babies who are! Our goal this year is to break our previous record of 93 local breastfeeding dyads captured simultaneously nursing in a single image. We would love for you to help us accomplish this goal by participating in the creation of that image if you are a breastfeeding parent! Parent’s Night Out at BCM MONTHLY – Every 3rd Friday of the Month Parent’s did you know that each month the Beaumont Children’s Museum keeps its doors open late for kids to have some fun while the you have your night out. Drop your kids off at the Children’s Museum between 6-7PM for them to enjoy a night of crafts, science, games, pizza and movie, and most importantly free play. Pick up is between 9PM – 10PM. Children must be 3 years of age and potty-trained to stay for this night out. 1st child is $25 for the night and 2nd child or more includes a $5 discount. All members with your membership card will receive an additional $5 discount per child. Boy Scout Day at the Clifton Steamboat Museum The Clifton Steamboat Museum (8727 Hwy 124, Beaumont, TX 77705) is hosting the fourth annual Boy Scout Day on May 26, 2018 from 9 am to 1 pm rain or shine. This is a come and go event. Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will have the opportunity to participate in demonstrations, work on the Scouting Heritage Merit Badge, enjoy guest speakers, and complete a scavenger hunt through the museum to earn a patch or belt loop. The scavenger hunt culminates in the 1,000 sq. foot scout exhibit showcasing items dating back to the first Beaumont Boy Scout Troop in 1911. There will also be many photo opportunities with a photo contest for a $25 gift card. This free event will include lunch. All scouts should be in uniform.
