HorsePower – A Future and A Hope at Stable Spirit Chicken & Sausage Gumbo will be served, while you come and meet Kate Brooks and learn about HorsePower – A Future and A Hope which is a missionary program in Kenya, Africa serving children with special needs. Kate is originally from Nederland, TX and will be staying at Stable-Spirit from Oct. 17 – 20, 2018 to learn about our programs. Men’s Breakfast at Calder Baptist Church Join us the last Friday of each month for a time of food, fellowship, and a word by Pastor Fuller. The menu is scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits, coffee and orange juice. A donation of $2 covers the cost of the meal. Serving starts at 7 sharp.

Self-Advocate Meeting The Southeast Texas Self Advocates (SETX/SA) is an organization of adults ages 18 and up with and without developmental disabilities run entirely by it’s members. The organization’s goal is to improve the quality of life for people living with disabilities in Southeast Texas through leadership, education, and community service opportunities. The organization is an affiliated chapter of the Texas Advocates and a program within The Arc of Texas and The Arc of Greater Beaumont. Governor’s Resource Providers Workshop at Bowers Civic Center We are excited to announce the Governor’s Small Business Forum in Port Arthur, Texas to be held from from 8:00am – 12:00pm on October 18, 2018. Partnered with the Texas Workforce Commission, Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce and the Lamar State College – Port Arthur, the Governor’s Small Business Service Provider Workshops provide an opportunity for small business resource providers, such as business lenders, business-oriented non-profits, and local, regional, state and federal agencies, to connect and build a regional network to assist small businesses in their communities. Small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs are invited to attend the Workshops to receive hands-on assistance from the resource providers and gather the information needed to start and grow their businesses.
