Joe R. Lansdale Meet & Greet at The Boomtown Film Festival Fleur Fine Books will be hosting, East Texas Master Mojo Storyteller, Joe R. Lansdale for a Meet & Greet in the lobby of the Jefferson Theatre Saturday April 21st. We will have copies of his latest Hap and Leonard novel Jackrabbit Smile along with a selection of his other books available on site for purchase. Joe will also be a member of a film panel for Boomtown Film & Music Festival, at 3 PM at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas.  

Q&A Lecture: How to connect to your loved ones in Spirit at Sawdust Saloon Hosted by New Orleans Psychic Medium Melinda Mae Miller and Life as Human The Book Your loved ones are all around you trying to let you know they are still part of your life. You do not need a medium to read the signs your loved ones are sending you. They WANT you to know they are near! Please join me Sunday April 22 at Sawdust Saloon for a talk with Q&A about recognizing the signs your loved ones use to communicate with you. In this talk I will cover: • Common things our people do to communicate with you • Things you can do to communicate with your loved ones • The purpose of mediumship as an intermediary • When to hire a medium • Questions to ask before you schedule your appointment This talk is open to the public, admission is by donation at the event. PFLAG Beaumont Pride Fest Brunch 2018 at The Logon Cafe Please come and visit, enjoy good food, enjoy great live entertainment by Garrett DeLaCerda, and peruse information about different inclusive organizations attending the brunch. Monthly Meeting at The Logon Cafe – Beaumont, Texas This next meeting is a very one. We need EVERY current member to attend. We will be voting on something that will affect the future of our chapter. The topic at hand to vote on is whether we continue as a NORML chapter OR start a new organization independent of NORML that individualizes our advocacy efforts. We have learned a great deal from NORML and have no issues with the organization or its leaders, its just that some of our members feel we could be more effective if we were to start our own organization. We have made great advancements under NORML and we love our NORML family. This is a BIG decision and will require every member to participate. All members and directors are required to attend. If you are a current member we need YOU to be at the next meeting. We will discuss the pros and cons and vote on the future of our chapter. This is not a decision directors make alone. Self-Advocate Meeting The Southeast Texas Self Advocates (SETX/SA) is an organization of adults ages 18 and up with and without developmental disabilities run entirely by it’s members. The organization’s goal is to improve the quality of life for people living with disabilities in Southeast Texas through leadership, education, and community service opportunities. The organization is an affiliated chapter of the Texas Advocates and a program within The Arc of Texas and The Arc of Greater Beaumont. Friends of the Orange Depot meeting Hosted by Orange Train Depot Museum  The organization’s goal this year is to finish the latest project which is to design the museum exhibits which will line the walls of the depot, allowing for the continuation of special event space in both the small and large areas of the building. To achieve this goal the group will be fundraising for the needed financial support to pay for the exhibits. Already on the calendar is the annual Depot Day which will be Saturday, May 12, on the depot grounds as well as inside the depot. The planning committee will be pursuing sponsors soon for this important city-wide event.
